To Be a Hero!

•January 23, 2009 • 7 Comments

Sometimes I wish I had a hero, an infallible and selfless figure that was not only encouraging, but also inspiring. I wish that such an individual existed, although as of late, my hopes have been dashed. I dream of just knowing someone exists that could fill this role, even if I couldn’t be an active part of this heroes life.

I’ve come to the conclusion that you have to be your own hero, even if you know your own flaws. You have to draw upon your own God given strength and then give Him the glory for it. But even though I know this is probably the most rewarding way to live, it would still be nice to have something more to aspire to and a living example of that’s worthy of that aspiration and admiration.

What do you think is heroic? Do you disagree? If so, who is your hero and why?

A Message to Barack On Inauguration Day…

•January 20, 2009 • 2 Comments

Dear Barack,

Today you take an oath, a sacred oath that many men have taken on days such as today, in the not so distant past. Today you become President, a position given to you by God almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth, and the Father of Jesus Christ, savior of humanity. Today you distinguish yourself with a title you will carry for the rest of your life, and thrust your family into a life that they will never be able to leave. So, it is on this day that I, too, will take an oath. One that is more sacred than the words you will speak, and carries with it it’s own burden.

I Timothy 2:1-2 says, “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Mr. President, as with President Bush I will pray for you. I will support you and hope for the best with you. I will mourn with you and for our country if we again face the pains of the past. And I will do my best to be respectful of you, even if we disagree on certain issues your administration enacts.

Be blessed. God bless you, and God bless America.

Goodbye President Bush…

Dear President Bush,

To say that the last few years have been chaotic would be a gross understatement. Your presidency has seen the worst terrorist attack our country has ever seen, and a collapse of the economic infrastructure that we could never have anticipated. It has seen a long and heavily debated war, and a series of policies that are party favored to say the least. But I just wanted to say one thing. Thank you. Thank you for making decisions instead of towing the line and trying to please everyone. Thank you for showing steadfast character even when your approval ratings were as low as the sunken Atlantis, and thank you for continually entertaining me while you ran things with your never ending supply of Bushisms and verbal foibles.

Tonight you made your farewell address. It will go down, at least to me, as one of the best speeches I have ever heard. I want you to know that I prayed for you regularly over the past 8 years and even though I didn’t agree with most of what you were doing, I supported you none-the-less. You will not go down in history as being a bad man, or a bad president, rather I will teach my kids that you were a man that held the title of president during a bad time in our country’s story. You did what few could have done, and so I write this, and send you off in peace. It is with my best wishes I wish you well in the future and tell you that I will always pray for you and your family. Thank you for being my president, and God bless you forever and always.

Look at President Pimpin’s Ride!!!

Obama has the coolest ride of all time for a president! This thing is missile proof, and chemical weapons proof! They really must be afraid he’s going to be assassinated! But answer me this… Where are the spinners?!
